Enhance air connectivity
The airport highlighted a recent surge in passenger traffic in India, anticipating further growth in the coming years. In a joint commitment to support this upward trajectory, Noida International Airport and Akasa Air aim to enhance air connectivity from Delhi-NCR and Western Uttar Pradesh to destinations both in India and globally, as outlined in their statement.
Currently, the first phase development of the airport spans an area of 1,334 hectares in the Jewar region of western UP. The airport is on track to commence flight operations by the end of this year. The initial phase, featuring one runway and one terminal, is designed to accommodate an annual passenger traffic of 12 million.
Looking ahead, the airport’s expansion plan includes the completion of the fourth phase, which is projected to grant the facility the capability to manage a staggering 70 million passengers per year, emphasising its significant role in bolstering India’s air travel infrastructure.
