As winter envelops Delhi in dense fog, Air India has taken a proactive step to minimise travel disruptions for passengers traveling to and from Delhi IGI Airport. Delhi Airport experienced delays for more than 100 flights today, foreshadowing potential disruptions throughout the winter season.

The airline on Wednesday (December 27) announced that, in anticipation of major fog delays during the winter season, passengers can reschedule or cancel their bookings at no additional cost. This initiative is a continuation of last winter’s FogCare program and underscores Air India’s commitment to prioritising passenger convenience, particularly in adverse weather conditions.

Foggy weather conditions

Recognising the challenges posed by foggy weather conditions, Air India aims to provide hassle-free solutions to affected passengers. Rajesh Dogra, Chief Customer Experience Officer at Air India, highlighted the sincerity of the FogCare initiative, and said, “It is a sincere effort to minimise inconvenience to guests whose flights are likely to get affected by fog. It will also help maintain network schedule integrity.”

Air India to offer proactive support

To assist passengers impacted by fog-related delays, Air India will offer proactive support and present straightforward options for rescheduling or canceling tickets without incurring extra charges.

Passengers on affected flights will receive timely updates through flight-specific advisories, ensuring they remain well-informed about potential delays. Through this initiative, Air India seeks to enhance the overall travel experience and demonstrate its commitment to addressing the unique challenges associated with winter fog.
