Wockhardt Foundation, a not-for-profit organization founded by Khorakiwalas announced that it would create an army of over one million warriors comprising of both volunteers and donors for creating social development. To make this vision of ?Developed India: a shared dream? come to life the foundation will use social media to drive a campaign to bring in volunteers to support the 10 major social initiatives of the Wockhardt Foundation.
The project was kick started in Mumbai by Dr. Indu Shahani, Sheriff of Mumbai, Ms. Nafisa Khorakiwala, Chairperson, Wockhardt Foundation, Mr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, Wockhardt Foundation CEO, Also present on the occasion to support the initiative were Anuj Saxena, Managing Director – Elder Healthcares, Sunil Shah Singh, Managing Director – ITD Cementation and Seema R Motwani, Theater Artist.
Mr. Huzaifa Khorakiwala, CEO, Wockhardt Foundation said, ?This initiative to create warriors with the World Wide Web as a medium will see a fusion of social initiative and technology; transform messages into dialogues and help in bringing the vision and values of the Wockhardt Foundation to a larger audience. It will see information exchange transforming people from content readers into social development warriors across the country. We appeal to people to join as warriors ? either as donors or volunteers to make this vision of ?Developed India: a shared dream? come true? He added, ?Wockhardt Foundation is governed by a simple principle ?Service to man is Service to God?.?
Wockhardt Foundation will use technology to create a community of warriors to support its mission and work towards creating a better life today and tomorrow for the socially and economically underprivileged section of the society. This initiative will see the Wockhardt foundation build a community of over one million warriors using modern cost effective tools like social networking, blogging, and discussion forums among other things. Working closely with overseas experts in this new age initiative, Wockhardt Foundation has revamped its website by making it more interactive, user friendly and informative.
