Aiming at the global textile market, S Kumars Nationwide Ltd (SKNL) is scouting for an acquisition and is also in talks with 3-4 textile companies in Europe. ?SKNL is in talks with various players in Europe. But we are not in a hurry to acquire a company. If the target company fits into our business portfolio and the valuation is found to be good, we will consider the buyout,? a company source said. Through the acquisition, SKNL wants to bring global recognition to its retail brands, along with selling the acquired brands in India. SKNL is setting up a high value fine cotton (HVFC) manufacturing plant at a cost of Rs 300 crore at Jhagadia in Gujarat. SKNL wants to ensure that the brands that it plans to acquire can also be manufactured at the new plant. The Rs 1,239-crore SKNL is investing a sum of Rs 619 crore this financial year for expansion of home and textiles, total wardrobe solutions and HVFC projects.
