Pritish Nandy Communications (PNC) will enter into production of regional films, launch a national-level film festival and rope in co-production partners from France for its upcoming movie. The company will, to begin with, make films in Bengali and Telugu close on the heels of Reliance Big Pictures? plans to promote regional language films in overseas film festivals.

Pritish Nandy Communications chairman Pritish Nandy told FE that the company plans to launch a national-level film festival. The company has won many awards for its movies at international film festivals, the last being Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi directed by Sudhir Mishra, and wants to be a big player in the festival marketplace.

The only private film festival of any importance in India is Osean?s Cinefest Asian Film Festival that takes place in both Delhi and Mumbai.

The company is in talks for roping in a co-production partner for its much-publicised film Actor, which has been kept in abeyance for actor Amitabh Bachchan is out of the country for personal reasons for sometime stoking apprehension that the project may be shelved.

?Amitabh Bachchan has committed for the film. The film will be completed by the end of the year,? said Nandy.
