* Of oldest democracy & largest democracy

?As a representative of the world?s oldest democracy, it is a true privilege and honour to address the world?s largest democracy.? The words were written by US President Barack Obama in the newly introduced Golden Book in Parliament immediately after he came to the historic Central Hall to address the MPs. ?May the friendship between the two countries continue to grow in the years to come,? 49-year-old Obama, who is left-handed, wrote as the entire gathering comprising a galaxy of leaders stood cheering. The Golden Book concept is the brainchild of Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar and Obama was the first dignitary to sign it, Parliament officials said.

* Bahut dhanyavad, says Obama on warm welcome

?Bahut dhanyavad?. This is how US President Barack Obama thanked people of India for the warm welcome and hospitality he and American First Lady Michelle Obama received during their visit. ?At every stop, we have been welcomed with the hospitality for which Indians have always been known. So to you and the people of India, on behalf of me, Michelle and the American people, please accept our deepest thanks. Bahout dhanyavad,? he said.

* Obama wishes to take some Indian horses, camels home

If wishes were horses, US President Barack Obama would like to take home some of the stately equines at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. While entering the majestic Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday for a ceremonial welcome, Obama was visibly impressed by the smart turnout of the elite presidential body guards (PBG) who escorted him to the forecourt where he was received by President Pratibha Patil and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. During his chit-chat with the President, the visiting dignitary praised the PBGs and said in a lighter vein that he wants to take home some camels and horses to the US, enough to bring smiles to the hosts.
