1THE JOB: I always say that my work is not just my career. It is the sole purpose of my existence. What I love about my work is that it is an expression of my creativity. My innovations are the best part of my work. What I hate is that there are only 24 hours in the day.
2THE WEEKDAYS: I am involved in each and every aspect of my enterprise. I have an extremelybusy schedule everyday. In fact, while I am getting ready for the day, I start jotting down the things that occur to me. Fortunately, I have the ability to deal with several different matters simultaneously, giving different instructions to different people. My day includes discussions with different departments, from production, international expansion, public relations, to packaging and promotions. I have just returned from MIT, where I spoke on innovative entrepreneurship and Brand India. I also met buyers in New York during this trip, who asked for Ayurvedicinnovations. So, now I am working on the development of those products. Actually, product innovation is very close to my heart. My day also includes, meetings with foreign buyers, media interviews and attending to emails. A thousand ideas and thoughts still crowd my mind when my day ends. To stay above the competition, it is important to build the team. I motivate and build up their confidence by emphasizing our plus points?that we have a headstart on other companies, with a track record of over four decades. We have already established brand loyalty and a global network of ventures and distributors. Our reach in India is up to the smallest towns. We also look at the current scenario and how we can improve on it?in terms of establishing more points of purchase, especially in malls and supermarkets, and also how we can remain ahead of the competition with new launches and innovations. I always say that I rule with my heart and not my head, because I am emotional and believe in the human and personal aspect.
3THE WEEKEND: On weekends I get away to our herb and flower farm near Delhi, mainly to unwind. What I really love is the rural ambience, with the Aravalli hills in the background. On summer mornings I get up early to walk barefoot on the cool lush grass. In the evenings, we sit on the verandah and watch the beautiful sunset over the Aravallis. The sheer beauty of the changing colours takes my breath away. It is a spiritual experience. The nights are also magical. The peace and solitude is refreshing and renewing.
4THE TOYS:I cannot do without my iPhone 5 and my iPad.
5THE LOGOS: I splurge on all the accessories that Louis Vuitton offers. Amongst other things, Louis Vuitton handbags are definitely my all-time favourites. I have always been loyal to the Louis Vuitton brand accessories and continue to explore new items introduced by them, especially in handbags. The brand is distinct, stylised and speaks for itself. I have bought most of their other accessories, ranging from handbags, clutch bags, briefcases and wallets, to watches and scarves..
