Sony has changed the game again with the launch of their new lifestyle VAIO ?Z? series laptops, setting new standards for others to follow.
Sony VAIO ?Z? Series laptop is the ultimate mobile PC, integrating the world?s best technologies and components in a featherweight, yet rugged chassis. The sleek and elegant ash black chassis is chiselled out of one-piece milled aluminum plate and hybrid carbon fibre, as if inspired by ?F16 Stealth jet fighter?.
To pump in the ultimate performance, an Intel?s top-of-the-line ?Core i7? processor with 8 GB of DDR3 RAM, four SSDs (64GB each solid state drives) in Raid ?0?, two graphics accelerators (external NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M GPU with CUDA Technology and internal Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD) have been stacked in side it.
The Sony adorned its Rs 1,59,900, flagship with a 13.1-inch wide full HD (1920 x 1080) LCD display with LED backlighting encased in a very thin hybrid carbon (special material in the layers) hinged top panel. It has a chicklet type backlit keyboard with ambient light sensor (that detects the amount of brightness around, and lights up in relative darkness). The ambient light sensor also controls the brightness of the LCD display to offer a comfortable viewing experience.
And, as Sony has it, every thing falls in place like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Intel ?i7? processor runs the ?Windows 7 Professional? at a blazing speed with boot time of less then 40 seconds, not seen or heard in windows based systems. The innovative Quad SSD assemblage, which performs significantly faster (about six times in transferring data) than conventional hard disk drives also chips in to boost the execution as if on steroids. But despite running Window 7 Professional, the touch pad lacks the default multi-touch interface.
With a high-end optical drive, three USB2.0 ports, Ethernet LAN socket, mini D-sup connector for external display, 3.5mm audio jack sockets for headphones and mic, and a
HDMI port to hook it to your Home Theatre system, the Sony VAIO ?Z? still manages to keep its weight (1.38 kg) on the lighter side.
