Maytas Infra Ltd has completed the commissioning work for the 110-km high pressure gas pipeline project of Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (GSPL). The Rs 303.45-crore EPC project was awarded to MNJV ? a joint venture between Maytas Infra and Naftogazbud, a Ukrainian giant in pipeline construction. According to a company statement, with the commissioning of this project Maytas Infra is certified to do jobs for line diameters of 48 in oil and gas projects. Chander Sheel Bansal, president- transportation, oil & gas, Maytas Infra said, commissioning of GSPL is a testimony to the company?s execution capability. The oil and gas team completed the mechanical completion of the pipeline in October, and in December 2008, Nitrogen filling was also completed. The JV has laid high pressure 30 inch diameter and 110 km long pipeline between Jamnagar and Rajkot, which is part of the GSPL pipeline from Bharuch to Jamnagar. The scope of work for this project included complete residual and detailed engineering, procurement and supply, fabrication, storage at site, transportation, erection, installation, inspection, testing, preparation and restoration of ROU, pre-commissioning, commissioning, one month operation, construction of terminal and tap off stations along with all associated works.
