Enemy?s enemy

It is rather amusing that the hitherto arch-rivals RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and JDU leader and former Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar have come together on one platform to keep ?communal forces? away in the Rajya Sabha election. Both the RJD and JDU moved heaven and earth to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. Their unusual unity backfired. Defeating the BJP, not development, is the agenda of both the parties. People can see through the designs of the opportunistic alliance of sworn enemies. Instead of supporting each other, it would be better for both the parties to merge and name the party as RJD (U). Sink or sail, they can remain together.

The reports of about 40 Indian workers gone missing in the aftermath of the current crisis in Iraq are disturbing. The Indian government must provide monetary help, food and proper communication to those stranded in Iraq.
