The CPI(M) has started fresh efforts to reach out to its Left Front partners in West Bengal and settle differences even as the Forward Bloc threatened to sever ties with the party if it continued with its ?capitalist policies?.

Addressing a rally at Nandigram, state CPI(M) secretary Biman Bose on Wednesday said that meeting of the Left Front would be called soon to discuss the issues between the CPI(M) and its allies.

??After CPI(M)?s ongoing district conferences, I will talk to the partners to sort out differences with our party at a Left Front meeting,?? Bose told a rally at Nandigram, which was also addressed by state chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee. ??To keep the pace of development, we have to maintain unity,?? he added.

After the March 14 firing, the CPI(M) politburo had advised the state unit to hold routine meetings of the Left Front before initiating any development projects. The Left Front partners, on the other hand, were highly critical of the CPI(M)?s ?unilateral? style of functioning.

??We welcome the call for discussions,?? Forward Bloc general secretary Debabrata Biswas told FE. ??But the issue is that whether the decisions are taken by the CPI(M) or the Left Front. Problems arise when decisions are taken unilaterally . The Left Front is there and discussions should happen,?? Biswas added.
