One of the most awaited events for salsa enthusiasts across the globe ? the Kingfisher 4th India International Salsa Congress 2009, scheduled from 8th ? 9th August at Hotel Lalit Ashok saw a slew of national and international instructors and salsa champions participate in the biggest salsa extravaganza in India. The All India Salsa championship, where world renowned performers showcased some of the best international salsa dancing, was held on 8th August. The winners of the championship were Bangalore-based dancers, Bindu Prasanna and Aatish Khan.

For the past month, India has seen salsa workshops, parties and performances in Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. With 28 instructors from 9 countries, the Kingfisher India International Salsa Congress promises to bring together salsa dancers from across the world to participate in the celebrated art form. Some of the instructors include Alex Lee & Kim, USA, Sneha Kapoor and Richard Tholoor, participants in the recent India?s Got Talent and Giancarlo & Masha, New Zealand?s #1 salsa dance couple. 6 popular DJ?s like DJ Joseph Enin and DJ Javed from Hong Kong and India came together and played internationally renowned Latin American music, adding to the truly global experience.
