The Congress on Monday gave a cold but cautious response to Tamil Nadu chief minister M Karunanidhi?s flattering praise last week for slain LTTE leader Thamilselvan, saying it would ??not support eulogising of terrorism in any form??.
For a party which at one time charged that the DMK was indirectly responsible for Rajiv Gandhi?s assassination, but is now sharing power at the Centre with it, taking a categoric position on Karunanidhi?s stirring tribute for Thamilselvan, obviously was a tough task. ??It was his personal view and we do not subscribe to it,?? Congress spokesperson Jayanthi Natarajan told reporters here, when asked what she thought of the issue. Karunanidhi created a stir last week by writing an elegy for the political wing secretary of the LTTE, who was killed in an airstrike by the Sri Lankan airforce last week.
??We will not support eulogising of terrorism in any form and we will not forget the action perpetrated by the LTTE,?? Natarajan said but refused to respond further to a volley of questions on the issue.
