BGR Energy Systems Limited has won Rs 3100 crore contract from the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) to expand the 840 mw Mettur thermal power project by another 600 MW. The 600-MW sub-critical power plant is to be completed in a period of 39 months, B G Raghupathy, chairman and managing director said on Tuesday.
The scope of work consists of design, engineering, supply of boiler, steam turbine generator and complete balance of plant equipment. They include all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation & control systems and civil, structural and architectural works, necessary for putting into commercial operation on engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis, he added.
