Economist Arvind Subramanian has been appointed by the government as the Chief Economic Advisor to the Finance Ministry. Subramanian is currently a senior fellow at the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) in Washington DC.
He has worked at the International Monetary Fund, where he served as an assistant director in the research department and had also taught at Harvard University?s Kennedy School of Government (1999?2000) and at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.
