Almond and walnut prices strengthened at the wholesale market in Delhi on high demand triggered by ongoing marriage season amid higher advices from producing regions.

Traders said increased demand from retailers due to ongoing marriage season along with higher advices from producing region mainly helped almond and walnut prices to strengthen.

Almond (California) rose further by Rs 100 to Rs 10,600 per 40 kg, while its kernel moved up by Rs 10 to Rs 380-385 per kg.

Walnut also gained Rs 5 to Rs 125-175 per 40 kg and its

kernel traded higher by the same margin to Rs 375-525 per kg.The following are today’s quotations (per 40 kg): Almond (California) Rs 10,600 Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 6,000-6,200; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 3,100-3,200; Abjosh Afghani Rs 8,000-18,000.

Almond Kernel (California) Rs 380-385 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 300-380 per kg.
