Leading telecom operators on Thursday welcomed the Trai?s move to abolish ADC from April 1 indicating that mobile tariffs would come down in the days to come.

?We will be passing on the benefit to our customers wherever possible,? CDMA operator Tata Teleservices said.

GSM operator and the country?s largest mobile operator Bharti Airtel also welcomed the move saying, ?we are committed to passing on the benefits of ADC relief to the customers primarily in the rural areas as desired by Trai?.

Vodafone-Essar, the second largest GSM operator also welcomed the move and said that it too would pass on the benefit to customers in an equitable manner and announce it shortly.
