Leela Palace Udaipur fined Rs 10 lakh after staff barges into room using master key
A consumer court has ordered Leela Palace Udaipur to pay Rs 10 lakh compensation to a Chennai couple for violating their privacy. Housekeeping staff entered the room using the master key while the couple was inside the washroom. The hotel claimed it followed SOPs, but the commission rejected the defence and ordered a refund of the room tariff – Rs 55,000 – and Rs 10,000 litigation costs.
