Retail inflation for December is estimated to rise to 1.45% year-on-year, up from 0.71% in November and 0.25% in October due to unfavorable base effects in food prices and sequential firmness in precious metals. This would mark the 11th consecutive month below the RBI’s medium-term target of 4% and below the lower end of the target range of 2-6%.
