India vs Pakistan Final ICC Champions Trophy: Iconic batsman Virender Sehwag is not known for holding his words back when it comes to India, Pakistan cricket matches but the former Indian opener gave a good example of sportsmanship ahead of the India vs Pakistan ICC Champions Trophy Final by defending the opposition captain Sarfraz Ahmed. In a Twitter post, Sehwag lashed out at people who were trying to troll Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed for his English by saying that his job is not to speak English but to play and he is doing that perfectly. “Criticizing Sarfaraz for not speaking English is insane. His job is to play&he has done brilliantly 2 take Pak in finals #StopColonialMindset,” Sehwag wrote in a post.
Sehwag, who is part of the Champions Trophy commentary team posted another tweet after a while saying that Pakistan did well to beat a strong English side in the semi-final. However, he added that on Sunday India is going to win the game. “His job doesn’t demand to know English but to beat the English & they did really well to beat a strong English side. Kal, Hindustan Zindabad!” wrote the former Indian opener.

Meanwhile, Indian captain Virat Kohli looked confident about his side’s chances ahead of the game but said he isn’t taking the opposition lightly. “I don’t see any relevance of the first game – you can never tell how a particular team starts a tournament. Some teams start confidently and then they fade. Some teams might not have the best start but they come back amazingly – which Pakistan have done. Everyone is aware of the talent they have – they can beat any side in the world. At the same time, neither are we too intimidated nor are we too arrogant about what we are doing. It’s important to maintain the balance of being confident in your own skill and what you are doing as a team,” he said in a press conference before the game.
