Taking a cue from the MCD, Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh (CMC) is planning to set up waterless urinals to check the depleting water table in the Union Territory.
The corporation has joined hands with AG Aqua Solutions for installing waterless urinals. This is the same company that had joined hands with MCD during Commonwealth Games.
VK Garg, executive engineer, of the corporation, said, ?The CMC has taken a conscious step towards water conservation as water table is going down day-by-day.? At present, the corporation has installed kupple waterless urinals at major locations.
?It will also save a lot of money. Since the unit requires no recurring costs, one ends up saving R7,000 per month on operational costs, and the maintenance routine is simple and quick,? said Sabyasachi Dasgupta, sales manager, AG Aqua.
Sidharth Agarwal, MD, AG Aqua, said, ?These urinals are basically designed to conserve natural resources while remaining true to a singular level of quality for performance and design reducing facility.?
