Days after Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar refused to meet Jat leaders, he has urged them to call off their scheduled protest in the national capital tomorrow and come to the discussion table.The community is planning to hold protests in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar from tomorrow on government’s repeated backtrack on the issue despite promises.

To make matters worse of people living in NCR region, the Delhi Metro has been disrupted from today. Metro services, under the order of the Delhi Police, will not be available to metro stations outside the national capital Guru Dronacharya to Huda City Centre (line 2), Kaushambi -Vaishali and Noida Sector-15 -Noida City Center (line 3 and 4) and Sarai-Escorts Mujesar (line 6) from today night till further orders.

Last Friday, the chief minister was expected to meet the agitators, but the meeting could not be held, prompting protestors to protest from the national capital tomorrow. Apart from reservations in government jobs and educational institutes, the agitators are demanding cases registered against the youth during the agitation last year be taken back. During the agitations, the protestors are likely to block roads and also protest near the Parliament complex.

On February 26, the community observed ‘Black Day’, against the policies of the BJP government in Haryana and sought fulfilment of their demands. On the day, a large number of protesters reached the dharna sites at 19 places in the state. There was a large deployment of security in the districts.

Earlier this month, several members of the community from different states had gathered in Delhi’s Jantar Mantar to show their support for agitation in Haryana.
