Ratan Tata is not the first person to support the demonetisation drive. Earlier, a number of public figures, including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev, Amitabh Bachchan among others, have suppored the decision.
Earlier today, PM Modi in a tweet had asked people to share their opinions on the decision to implement demonetisation. Modi, in a Tweet, said: I want your first-hand view on the decision taken regarding currency notes. Take part in the survey on the NM App.

However, PM opinion-seeking on mobile phone was also criticised by opposition. Attacking the PM, MIM Chief Asaduddin Owaisi said: “PM Modi wants a Survey on his app in a country where 40 crore people illiterates,20 crore people work in unorganised sectors,60 have died.”
