After a seven-hour tripartite meeting on Tuesday, it appears agitating workers at Tata Motors’ Sanand plant may call off their month-long strike.

Assistant Labour Commissioner MS Patel said: “The company has agreed to reinstate 13 of the 26 suspended workers, while the fate of 13 others will be decided post an inquiry. The suspended workers will also be paid 75% of their salary, as opposed to the 50% the company had offered earlier.”

The workers were yet to take a final call at the time of going to press.
