Former journalist Kush Desai, an Indian-American has been appointed as the Deputy Press Secretary in the white House by US President Donald Trump, as per an official announcement by the White House. Desai has a strong background in political communications and has an experience of working as Deputy Communications Director for the 2024 republican National Convention and has also worked as a Communications Director for the Republican Party of lowa.

Major role in Battleground states

During his tenure at the Republican National Committee, Desai was designated as Deputy Battleground States and Pennsylvania Communications Director. In his role, he was responsible for drafting the messaging and shaping the narratives in the battleground states, especially in Pennsylvania. This state played a crucial role in contributing to Trump’s victory across all the seven states in the US election.

Other New roles announced as White House Team leadership

The confirmation regarding Desai’s appointment has been made by the White House on Friday. The Office of Communications will function under the leadership of Taylor Budowich, who will serve as Deputy White House of Staff and Cabinet Secretary.

The US President has recently announced names for key roles in his communications team, including Steven Cheung as Assistant to the President and White House Communications Director and Karoline Leavitt has been chosen as Assistant to the President and Press Secretary.
