The bodyguards of the Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly carried ‘poop suitcases’ to collect his faecal waste during the Alaska summit with US President Donald Trump, ANI stated, citing a report by The Express US. The move was reportedly aimed at hiding the information about the Russian president’s health conditions. Strict security measures were in place when Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin reached Alaska on Friday to discuss the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

“Putin’s bodyguards collect his faecal waste and bring it back to Russia when the leader travels abroad,” The Express US reported, according to ANI.

Briefcases, special bags to collect Putin’s faeces were brought: Report

The report mentioned that during the meeting, Putin was surrounded by  bodyguards, and a number of steps were taken to protect him and Russian intel. The Express US reportedly cited two investigative journalists, Regis Gente and Mikhail Rubin of the French publication Paris Match, and said that members of the Russian President’s Federal Protection Service (FPS) collect his human waste, including his faeces, store it in special bags, and carry it in dedicated briefcases.

The report claimed this measure was being taken for several years, including Putin’s visit to France in May 2017. The step was reportedly taken to not let foreign powers from taking samples of Putin’s human waste, that could allow then to gain information on the Russian leader’s health.

Journalist Farida Rustamova, the report said, had claimed that such measures existed during Putin’s visit to Vienna, where he used a portable toilet. “She said that a source revealed the president has carried out the practice since he began his leadership in 1999,” The Express US stated in its report.

Putin and Trump met in Alaska, but no decision could be reached on the matter of Ukraine. However, another round of meeting the leaders of the European Union is likely to be held soon, to give Ukraine a NATO-like security.

Speculation on Putin’s health condition

There have been several speculations about the health condition of the 72-year-old leader, and concerns including over

his jerking legs during a press conference in Astana, Kazakhstan, last November were also raised.

The Express US cited Dr Bob Berookhim and said the underlying cause could be a neurological condition such as Parkinson’s disease.

In 2023, the Russian president was seen twitching in his seat while meeting Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in 2023. The Kremlin also moved to decline these as rumours circulated by the General SVR Telegram channel in 2022, alleging that Putin had soiled himself after a fall, the report mentioned.
