President-elect Donald Trump has decided against including two of his former Cabinet members—former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley—in his new administration.

Trump, 78, was elected as the 47th president of the United States, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris, 60, in the election held on November 5. His first term as the 45th president spanned from January 20, 2017, to January 20, 2021.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “I will not be inviting former Ambassador Nikki Haley or former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to join the Trump Administration, which is currently in formation.”

Pompeo previously served as both CIA Director and Secretary of State during Trump’s first term, while Haley was the U.N. ambassador for the first two years of his presidency. Both later entered the Republican primaries to challenge him, with Pompeo withdrawing early and Haley staying in the race until February this year. Eventually, both endorsed Trump, with Haley publicly supporting him at the Republican National Convention in Wisconsin in July.

In his post, Trump expressed gratitude to his former colleagues for their contributions. “I very much enjoyed and appreciated working with them previously, and would like to thank them for their service to our Country. Make America great again!” Trump said.
