Tension between gangsters Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar appears to have spilled overseas. Bishnoi’s close aide, Harry Boxer, was attacked in Fresno, California, and Goldy Brar’s gang member Rohit Godara has claimed responsibility in a Facebook post. During the attack, one Bishnoi gang member was shot dead on the spot, while another was left injured, confirmed US officials, according to The Indian Express.
Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar were once close allies. According to multiple reports earlier this year, they stopped speaking after Bishnoi accused Brar and Godara of failing to help his brother, Anmol Bishnoi, in a legal case in the United States. After the fallout, Brar and Godara teamed up, while Bishnoi began working with Canada-based Noni Rana. “Central intelligence agencies received information that Brar and Godara did not assist Anmol in filing the required bail bond. Although Anmol was later released, he was fitted with an ankle bracelet tracker,” sources said, according to The Indian Express.
Who is Rohit Godara?
Originally from Rajasthan, Godara has a criminal record for his involvement in extortion and contract-killing networks in India and abroad. He is also very active online and often uses his social media to issue threats or claim responsibility for attacks. Security agencies believe he is currently based outside India, most likely in Azerbaijan or the United States, and manages operations for Brar.
In a recent Facebook post, he warned Boxer that he would find him “in any corner of the Earth.” “He may hide in any corner of the earth, but we will not spare him! The one who considered (Lawrence Bishnoi) his father and was speaking abusive words against us, has no standing in our presence! The one whom some people consider their idol is the biggest traitor on this earth! It may take time, but no one will be forgiven,” the Facebook post read.
Who is Harry Boxer?
Harry Boxer, also known as Hari Bishnoi, was part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. First time his name popped up in the news was in 2023 after he allegedly threatened a sarpanch in Punjab’s Tarn Taran district. In 2024, two gang members arrested in Jaipur told police that Boxer and Anmol Bishnoi had ordered them to extort ₹10 crore from a local businessman. Boxer has also been involved in a shooting incident outside comedian Kapil Sharma’s café in Canada earlier this year.
Lawrence Bishnoi is currently locked up in Gujarat’s Sabarmati Jail. Both Goldy Brar and Rohit Godara are believed to be hiding in the United States.
Bishnoi–Brar gang rivalry turns violent in the US
According to a senior official, Boxer was attacked by a group of men in Fresno. He managed to escape, but one of his partners died on the spot, and another was severely injured, The Indian Express reported. Hours later, a social media post believed to have been written by gangster Rohit Godara claimed responsibility for the attack. “This Harry Boxer is a follower of Lawrence Bishnoi. He ran away, leaving his associate behind,” the post read. Police forces across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi are on alert and closely monitoring the situation.
In the same Facebook post, Godara called Bishnoi a “traitor” and claimed that he and Goldy Brar were “stronger” and would wipe out Bishnoi’s group. The post also warned that anyone speaking against the Godara–Brar alliance would not be forgiven.
