US authorities have now detailed what 63-year-old Anibal Hernandez Santana’s alleged note name-dropping officials from the Donald Trump administration stated. The suspect in question was arrested over the weekend for the ABC TV station shooting in Sacramento. He was first nabbed on Friday evening (US time), but released on bail the following day. Hours later, the FBI apprehended him again.

Court documents cited by the FBI in a statement posted on X suggested Hernandez Santana, a Sacramento man, fired “one shot towards, and three shots into” the KXTV/ABC 10 station on Broadway in Sacramento, California, on Friday, September 19 (US time). He has since been charged with possessing a firearm within a school zone, discharging a firearm within a school zone, and interfering with a radio communication station.

At the time of the alleged shooting incident, the 63-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk around the block from the station. He first reportedly opened gunfire into the air in the station’s direction, and then is believed to have driven to the front and fired three shots directly into the building’s lobby.

Following a search of Hernandez Santana’s person, home and vehicle, authorities found a weekly planner on his refrigerator. Under the “Friday” tab, it held a handwritten note stating “Do the Next Scary Thing,” as per the Justice Department’s official news release.

Additionally, authorities discovered another handwritten note in his car. It said: “For hiding Epstein & ignoring red flags. Do not support Patel, Bongino, & AG Pam Bondi. They’re next. – C.K. from above.”

Anibal, who is a former health policy analyst for the California Indian Health Board, is said to have even shared a post on X the day before the shooting. “Where is a good heart attack when we need it the most??” he allegedly wrote in a post that seems to wish for US President Donald Trump’s death, as per Variety.

Charges against Anibal Hernandez Santana, the suspected ABC shooter

The alleged gunman currently charged with state and federal counts is expected to not plead guilty, according to his defence attorney, Mark Reichel.

It remains unclear if the shooting had anything to with Jimmy Kimmel‘s suspension over comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s death. Sacramento County District Attorney Thien Ho stated Hernandez Santana was apparently “also looking at other places, other people,” in what appears to be a politically motivated crime.
