Former US President Bill Clinton has called on the Justice Department to release all remaining documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, explaining that the way information is being disclosed raises concerns that “someone or something is being protected.”

Clinton’s spokesperson, Angel Urena, issued the statement as scrutiny grows over how the Trump administration is handling the release of records under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

“The Epstein Files Transparency Act imposes a clear legal duty on the US Department of Justice to produce the full and complete record the public demands and deserves,” Clinton’s spokesperson Angel Urena wrote in a statement. “But we do know this: We need no such protection,” the statement continued.

The statement was shared on X, just days after the Justice Department released thousands of documents and photographs to meet the Act’s deadline. However, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said the remaining materials would be released gradually over the coming weeks.

Latest release of Clinton’s document

The latest batch of documents released last Friday included photographs showing Clinton aboard Epstein’s private jet with a woman sitting on his lap, and another image of Clinton lying in a hot tub with a woman. The faces of the women were redacted with black squares. Additional photographs showed Clinton dining with Epstein and rock music legend Mick Jagger. Clinton has repeatedly denied any involvement in Epstein’s sex trafficking of underage girls and has said he cut ties with Epstein once his crimes became publicly known.

Trump reacts to Clinton’s photos in the documents

Urena directly urged President Donald Trump to order the immediate release of all materials “referring to, mentioning, or containing a photograph of Bill Clinton.” He stated that the Justice Department’s staggered release of documents risks creating misleading impressions, explaining wrongdoing by individuals who have already been cleared by the Department of Justice.

President Trump addressed the issue publicly for the first time following the release, saying he disliked seeing the photographs of Clinton included in the documents, according to Sky News. “I think it’s terrible,” Trump said, adding, “I like Bill Clinton… and I hate to see photos come out of him.”

“I’ve always gotten along with Bill Clinton. I’ve been nice to him, he’s been nice to me. I hate to see photos come out of him, but this is what the Democrats, mostly Democrats and a couple of bad Republicans, are asking for. So they are giving photos of me to. Everybody was friendly with this guy [Epstein], either friendly or not friendly.” Trump said Epstein was a well-known figure in Palm Beach and other locations, and many public figures had crossed paths with him.

“He was all over Palm Beach and other places… and Bill Clinton was a friend of his, but everybody was.” He added, “Bill Clinton’s a big boy. He can handle it, but you probably have pictures being exposed of other people that innocently met Jeffrey Epstein years ago.” Trump also claimed the release of the Epstein files was being used as a distraction from what he described as Republican successes.
