HCLSoftware a subsidiary of HCLTech, has announced the acquisition of Jaspersoft from Cloud Software Group in an all-cash deal valued at $240 million (around Rs 2, 100 crore), to strengthen its data and artificial intelligence software portfolio and expand its embedded analytics capabilities.
The transaction, structured as an asset carve-out, will see Jaspersoft become part of Actian, HCLSoftware’s Data & AI division, the IT major said in an exchange filing. The acquisition is expected to close within six months of signing, subject to regulatory approvals across multiple jurisdictions, including clearance from the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS).
What does Jaspersoft do?
Jaspersoft provides embedded analytics and pixel-perfect reporting software that allows organisations to build interactive dashboards, visualisations and high-volume reports directly into applications. The platform is used in regulated industries such as government, banking and financial services, where precision reporting and control over analytics environments are critical.
HCLSoftware said the acquisition will enhance Actian’s existing data management, governance and catalog offerings by enabling an end-to-end analytics experience, while also broadening its reach among developers and data architects building modern enterprise data platforms.
