US President Donald Trump reportedly approved plans to attack Iran Tuesday night in private. However, the decision on US involvement and joining Israel’s military campaign has yet to be finalised, according to the Wall Street Journal and CBS News.
American media’s claims on the Trump attack approval further suggest that the MAGA leader is willing to back the potential strike if Tehran agrees to abandon its nuclear program. On the same page, the POTUS told reporters on Wednesday that a final decision on possibly attacking Iran was still on the table.
US attack on Fordo facility – not one but several strikes: Report
A source privy to the alleged discussion told ABC News that Trump is already weighing the option of the US decimating the subterranean uranium enrichment facility Fordo. Moreover, they highlighted that the strike in question would involve several American B-2 stealth bombers, which have the capacity to drop 30,000-pound bombs. Experts say that they are capable of causing severe harm owing to their ability to penetrate as far as 200 feet below the surface.
Contrary to America’s public stance, originally asserting that it would play no part in the ongoing offensive back-and-forth between Iran and Israel, US media also played up that they had actually helped Israel in intercepting Iran’s missiles.
“I like to make the final decision one second before it’s due, because things change, especially with war,” he said. “I may do it. I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do.” He also emphasised talking to Iran so that a deal to call off its nuclear program could be worked out. Even though some want the US to stay out of the conversation, the president noted, “It’s possible that you’re going to have to fight for them not to have nuclear.”
He added, “But there’s no way that you can allow, whether you have to fight or not, you can allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon, because the entire world will blow up. Not going to let that happen.”

Iran has no plans to negotiate amid Trump’s Situation Room meetings
Iran, on the other hand, has long been asserting that the program’s foundations have been set in place only for peaceful purposes. On Wednesday, the country said it “does NOT negotiate under duress,” and would “respond to any threat with a counter-threat.”

On Wednesday, Trump concluded another Situation Room meeting with his national security team. Given the possibility that he would be shown Iran attack plans for approval at this juncture, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said, “As President Trump said himself today, all options remain on the table.”
Even Trump said that his patience with the country had “already run out,” and it may actually be too late to negotiate with Iran even if it wants to. Sending out a warning to Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, he added, “I say good luck.”
Repeatedly pushing back against Iran potentially possessing a nuclear weapon, he claimed that he didn’t want to get involved either. “…I’ve been saying for 20 years, maybe longer, that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon.”
