Just days after US President Donald Trump hosted a Diwali celebration at the White House in the midst of several key Indian-origin officials, CEOs and delegates, his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida became the venue for the first American Hindu Jewish Congress (AHJC) gala.
With the event dedicated to combating antisemitism and anti-Hindu prejudice, the MAGA leader’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, was also in attendance at the event among other significant personalities.
Lara Trump keynote address at American Hindu Jewish gala
Ellie Cohanim, the former US Deputy Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism under the first Trump admin, shared multiple posts on Instagram, as she reported directly from the event this week. One such highlight captured a brief look at what she called was Lara Trump’s “powerful keynote address” from the Inaugural American Hindu Jewish Conference Gala.
“Beautiful event in support of an incredible organization fighting antisemitism & anti-Hindu prejudice and bringing our two communities closer together,” Cohanim captioned the post she shared from the Trump Estate at Mar-a-Lago.
Hailing her father-in-law’s stance as a “peacemaker,” Lara said at one point during the evening, “The fact that it is October and Donald Trump has solved 8 conflicts around the world is absolutely remarkable.”
As she reiterated the war-solving statements the US president has long foregrounded in remarks to reporters at the White House, Lara suggested that his progress called for “8 Nobel Peace Prizes.”
Back in 2016, Lara grabbed attention for her visit to the Rajdhani temple as part of Donald Trump’s then-campaign efforts to connect with the Indian diaspora. Celebrating the Hindu Festival of Lights at the place of worship in Virginia at the time, she said, “I really like Hindu culture and I respect it.”
Lara Trump, who is married to the POTUS’ son Eric Trump, made her presence felt at the Mar-a-Lago event right ahead of Halloween celebrations in the US. The aspiring singer recently also made headlines for volunteering to perform at MAGA’s Super Bowl Halftime Show alternative, the “All American Halftime Show,” which will be organised by the late Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA.

Per Cohanim’s other posts, Lynne Patton, who is White House’s Deputy Assistant to the President for Coalition Policy & Engagement and Senior Advisor to the POTUS, and American physician Janette Nesheiwat, who was at one point nominated for the US Surgeon General post, were some other key figures to deliver remarks at the gala.
India-born Republican strategist Mehek Cooke MC’d the entire event, with the Hindu-Jewish group founder Arthur Kapur also taking the podium to share “what motivated him to launch AHJC, bringing the Hindu & Jewish communities together to advance all of American society.”
