After what seemed to be an apparent wedding invite snub, three popular American figures seemingly came under one roof to amplify the hate-train against newly-married Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.

The couple was already under fire for renting out an entire Italian island. Locals in Venice endlessly complained about the billionaire Amazon icon’s nuptials disrupting their ordinary lives and stealing the spotlight away from the destination city’s peak tourist season. On the flip side of that same conversation, actress Charlize Theron, former US President John F Kennedy’s grandson Jack Schlossberg and American journalist Katie Couric remained equally unimpressed of the pair’s Venice wedding, but for starkly different reasons.

Jeff Bezos Lauren Sanchez wedding backlash

The unlikely trio made headlines for throwing shade at Bezos and Sanchez in their own way while the love birds closed out their star-studded wedding festivities in Venice with a pajama-themed party, according to Page Six. The likes of rock icon Mick Jagger, R&B legend Usher, Oprah Winfrey, Kris Jenner and Tommy Hilfiger, among many others, dominated the dance floor during the final leg of celebrations.

Meanwhile, Oscar winner Charlize Theron was busy hosting the annual Block Part for her self-titled Africa Outreach Project over the weekend. While at the Universal Studios event in Los Angeles, she jokingly took a swing at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez.

“I think we might be the only people who did not get an invite to the Bezos wedding,” she said, as per The Hollywood Reporter. “But that’s OK because they suck and we’re cool.”

Katie Couric, Jack Schlossberg unexpectedly join forces in tearing apart new couple

On the other side of the same coin, Jack Schlossberg, the grandson of John F Kennedy, shared Vogue’s digital cover of the new Mrs Bezos in her corseted and high-necked Italian lace wedding gown by Dolce & Gabbana. As a former Vogue correspondent himself, he presumably shared the now-deleted Instagram post with scornful undertones.

“Welcome to the eighties–when big hair and conspicuous consumption rules,” Couric wrote in a comments under Schlossberg’s post. “Apparently tacky is back.” On his part, Caroline Kennedy’s son captioned the post, “Like I said… Vogue.” Eventually responding to the “Going There” author, the 32-year-old wrote back, “Let’s bring back scrunchies.”

Theron, Schlossberg and Couric’s unexpected union over throwing shade at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez’s wedding comes after they were reportedly not invited to the celeb-packed $50 million extravaganza that otherwise welcomed stars like Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gates, Sydney Sweeney, Orlando Bloom and many others.
