China on Saturday completed a latest transparent bridge in its Hunan province, People’s Republic of China reports. The bridge is almost 200 meters long, 100 meters above the river. People’s Republic of China has also Tweeted a scenic video of the bridge. Well, this is not the first see-through bridge in China. Recently, China had opened another see-through glass-bottomed suspension bridge in Hunan province which gave terrified tourists a heart-stopping day out. As per a PTI report, the bridge is made of three layers of the tempered glass, altogether 99 pieces, each of 3 by 4.5 meters and 15 mm thick.

Well, that’s not all, you will be delighted to know that unique pillar-like mountain formation in Zhangjiajie appeared in the Hollywood blockbuster movie “Avatar”. Grand Canyon Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie, where the bridge has been opened, received more than 1.2 million visitors from home and abroad last year.

Interestingly, the authorities conduct a number of safety tests on the bridge. The unique aspect of these tests are that they were not only done by the authorities to ensure safety, but also to convince commoners about the usage of the bridge. A report says that 20 volunteers used hammers to try to smash the glass, before an all-terrain vehicle carried 11 volunteers across the cracking glass. The authorities even ran a two ton truck on the bridge.
