President of Russia Vladimir Putin said in remarks published on Wednesday that if US troops appear in Ukraine, Russia will treat them as interventionists, reported RIA state news agency. He gave a wide-ranging interview with RIA and the Rossiya-1 state television.

Putin also said that if the United States conducts nuclear tests, Russia may do the same. The President of Russia also clarified that the country is ready – from a military-technical point of view – for a nuclear war, but for now, not “everything is rushing to it”.

234 fighters killed

Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the army and security forces killed 234 fighters while preventing an incursion into Russian border regions earlier in the day.

In a statement, the ministry blamed the attack on the “Kyiv regime” and “Ukraine’s terrorist formations,” insisting that the Russian army and border forces were able to stop the attackers and avert a cross-border raid.

The attackers lost seven tanks and five armored vehicles, said the ministry.

On Tuesday, in another development, Ukrainian long-range drones crashed into two oil facilities deep inside Russia, said officials.
