Ex-Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan’s jail security measures are costing a huge monthly bill of over Rs 1.2 million (12 lakhs), according to prison authorities. Presently, the cricketer-turned-politician is at the Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi.

As per the report presented by the jail superintendent to the Lahore High Court (LHC), the specialised facilities provided to the former prime minister (within the prison premises) include a separate CCTV camera system installed for Rs 500,000 … separate from the system watching the 7,000 other prisoners.

Under the watchful eye of the assistant superintendent, Imran Khan’s meals are prepared in a dedicated kitchen. These meals are subject to inspection by a medical officer or deputy superintendent before being served, reported The Express Tribune newspaper.

A team of over six doctors for Imran Khan!

From Holy Family Hospital, a team of over six doctors is stationed to provide medical care to Imran Khan, with additional specialist teams conducting regular check-ups.

According to the information, ex-pm occupies two of the seven special cells available. For security reasons, the remaining five are kept shut.

Access to the former prime minister’s cell is tightly restricted. For entry, permission is required. Professionally trained guards are assigned to ensure the security of his ward. While Adiala Jail generally assigns one personnel for every ten prisoners, Khan’s security detail includes 15 personnel.
