Melania Trump has revealed the living arrangements for her son, Barron, now that Donald Trump has returned to the White House for a second term.
In an interview with Fox News aired on January 13, the First Lady shared details about her plans with Barron, indicating they would split their time between Washington, D.C., New York City, and Palm Beach, Florida, over the next four years. However, Melania confirmed she would designate one of these locations as her primary residence.
When asked about where she would spend most of her time following Donald Trump’s inauguration, she responded, “I will be in the White House. And when I need to be in New York, I will be in New York. When I need to be in Palm Beach, I will be in Palm Beach. My first priority is to be a mom, a First Lady, and a wife.”
Melania also addressed whether Barron, now 18, would be joining them at the White House. Barron recently transitioned from the family’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach to New York City, where he is attending New York University’s Stern School of Business.
She previously disclosed in September that Barron had chosen to reside at Trump Tower in Midtown Manhattan as he began his first year of college. Despite living in Manhattan, Barron will maintain a room at the White House to visit whenever he wishes.
“Whatever he would like to do,” Melania said, emphasizing her respect for Barron’s preferences. “As parents, we guide our children, and then we give them wings to fly.”
In December, a source told People that Barron would not be living in a college dorm anytime soon, with Melania ensuring he remains socially and mentally well-adjusted. “Living in a dorm in a college town isn’t in the stars for him at this point,” the source explained, adding that Barron has already developed his own political views, which require careful consideration given the family’s circumstances.
