An earthquake of 4.7-magnitude struck Myanmar early Tuesday morning. Tremors also impacted multiple states in India, including Assam, Nagaland and Manipur. According to the National Centre for Seismology, an earthquake with a depth of 15 km hit the exact coordinates latitude 24.73 N, longitude 94.63 E in Myanmar at 6:10 am IST on September 30, 2025. 

As of now, no damage has been reported.

Slew of earthquakes

The new jolts come shortly after the country was shook by two previous earthquakes on Sunday. On top of that, considering the proximity to India, the tremors also comes hours after a 3.4-magnitude quake hit Satara district in Maharashtra at 12:09 am on Tuesday.

The location of the Myanmar quake on Tuesday was about 155 km south-southeast of Nagaland’s Wokha, 159 km southeast of Dimapur, 177 km south of Mokochung, 171 km northeast of Mizoram’s Ngopa and 193 km northeast of Champai.
