A video of a Russian tourist calling out Indian children for littering on the street has gone viral, reigniting discussions about civic sense in the country. The clip, titled “Interaction with Indian kids went wrong,” shows Ameana Finds engaging with a group of children when one of them casually throws trash on the ground.

Finds immediately addresses the behaviour, asking the child to pick up the litter and dispose of it properly. “What did you do? You dropped it. You pick it up. Put it in a bin,” she tells them firmly. When the children refuse to comply, she warns, “It’s not okay. I’m not giving you anything. Look at this. It’s your country. You’re gonna live and grow up in trash as long as you keep doing this.”

Children Continue Littering Despite Warnings

The video shows that instead of listening, some of the children defiantly toss more trash on the street. Ameana’s refusal to give them money further escalates the situation, highlighting issues around entitlement and public behaviour.

The clip has sparked widespread debate on social media about public cleanliness and civic education. Union Minister for Parliamentary and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju reposted the video on Instagram, urging action with the caption, “Pls sensitise.”

Social Media Reacts Strongly to Incident

Users weighed in with mixed reactions, emphasizing the need for better civic awareness. “Sorry you had this experience. We must work harder to teach them better,” one user wrote. Another commented, “Unbelievable that they don’t understand that it’s their country they should be proud of it but instead these kids make a mess of it.”

Other reactions included, “No manners those children. No parenting. At least you tried,” and “Look at the whole of India.., they don’t care about their environment.”

The incident has once again brought attention to the importance of instilling civic habits from a young age and promoting public responsibility across the country.
