Renowned investor Vijay Kedia has issued a public warning about a deepfake video in which his likeness and voice have been manipulated to promote stocks. Taking to social media, Kedia cautioned his followers against trusting such content, emphasizing that while the face and voice in the video appear to be his, the accent and fluency in English are unnatural.

“Someone made a fake video of me advising shares. The face is mine, the voice is mine… but suddenly, I sound like I studied in Oxford and grew up in New York! If you ever hear me speaking perfect English with a Western accent, just know—it’s not me,” Kedia wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

He urged investors to stay vigilant and verify the authenticity of financial advice before making decisions. “Beware of fake videos—verify before you trust, or your money might end up in the wrong hands,” he added.

Deepfake technology, which uses artificial intelligence to create highly realistic yet fabricated audio and video content, has become a growing concern in the financial world. Experts warn that fraudsters are increasingly using it to impersonate well-known figures and deceive investors.

Kedia, a respected figure in the Indian stock market, is known for his insightful investment strategies. His warning comes amid rising instances of misinformation targeting retail investors, emphasizing the need for caution in the digital age.
