“When you’re in a manifestation competition and your opponent is Tom Holland,” know that you’ll always lose. Even the Internet has enough reason and proof to firmly believe the long-contested viral shocker. Over 13 hours ago, Variety broke the exclusive word on Severance Emmy nominee Tramell Tillman joining the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, slated to make a big splash in theatres on July 31, 2026.
The star-studded cast panel for the movie is already to confirm to bring back OG stars Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon. In addition to the beloved trio of friends, Jon Bernthal’s Punisher and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk are already breaking the Internet for merely being introduced as part of the ensemble people can’t get enough. Stranger Things breakout star Sadie Sink and The Bear‘s Liza Colón-Zayas have also been tapped to join the rest in mysterious roles.
Just under a week ago, Sink’s Netflix co-star Joe Keery was also strongly rumoured to tag along for the highly anticipated Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi) directorial. While official confirmation on the last speculation spreading like wildfire is awaited, another one rocked social media today.
Florence Pugh joining Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 4?
Under a day ago, internet personality and popular insider/scooper Daniel Richtman, described as a “Twitter influencer and writer” by CNBC, took to his X profile to announce that a Spider-Man: Brand New Day casting scoop was coming today. His cheeky message was followed by an update hours later.

“Yelena! Florence Pugh has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day!” he wrote on X, adding in a yet another follow-up, “It’s a Dune reunion. Her and Zendaya filming this and Dune Part 3 back to back.”
The rumour was eventually picked up by countless fan accounts dedicated to Marvel Studios, Spider-Man and movies, in addition to other renowned pop culture pages on the social media platform. At the time of writing, Richtman’s Yelena tweet had amassed nearly 2 million views and almost 10,000 likes.
While some complained about how Holland’s Peter Parker would possibly end up meeting Pugh’s much-loved character instead of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil (again), others couldn’t wait for the day Spidey and Yelena would wound up becoming “besties.” Another bunch of Marvelites considered the possibility of her showing up to recruit Peter for ‘The New Avengers.’
“This is clearly an attempt to endear her character to audiences who didn’t see Thunderbolts before Doomsday drops but as someone who is already very much endeared I’m 100% on board for this,” commented a netizen.
This is what Marvel should have been doing all of phase four and five having other characters movies more often besides Doctor strange

Is Florence Pugh confirmed for Brand New Day?
As a matter of fact, she is not. We don’t have any approval from the official side yet. However, eagle-eyed internet sleuths couldn’t help but make a mountain out of a molehill when they caught a supposed easter egg suggesting the same on Instagram.
On August 2 (IST), the live-action web-slinging icon shared the extremely brief teaser of his new outing as Parker in a social media post, captioning it as “Are you ready? – 7.31.2026.”
Screenshots of the IG post again started spreading all over X today, as many turned their eyes to Pugh’s name popping up among those who appeared to have liked Holland’s update. Over-enthusiastic messages like “oh okay yeah” and “it’s all coming together” took over the website, as fans swore by the “delulu is the solulu” life.
Tom Holland – and even Florence – manifested their collab?
In case the rumour does come to life on the big screen next year, just know that Holland and Florence probably played their role in manifesting it. Yes, that’s right.
Three years ago, Holland talked it out with Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner at the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home. When asked who were the “newbies” he was most looking forward to work with. Tom instantly blurted out Pugh’s name, putting it out there: “A really cool Spider-Man Black Widow movie would be a fun little twist.”
Similarly, Pugh came out for the BuzzFeed’s famous Puppy Interview two years ago. One of the big questions of the day for her at the time was: “Which Marvel character would you love to see Yelena interact with in the future?”
In a split-second, she said, “I mean, it would have to be Spider-Man. I think they’d be so silly together. It would be so fun as well and I’ve been desperate to Tom for such a long time. Also, I really think Yelena would be able to really really take the best out of him in a really good and healthy way so that would be wonderful.”
All that Tom Holland has ‘manifested’ so far
The widely celebrated “King of Manifestation” conspiracy theory about Holland predicting his future began when fans noticed long back that he had originally expressed his heartfelt desire to play Spidey in a 2013 interview, two years before he was announced as the new wall-crawler.
“What kind of superhero would I wanna play? Maybe, Spider-Man in like 10 years time,” the Billy Elliot alum said in a red carpet interaction.
Years down the line, sitting down for a Spider-Man promotion interview with Zendaya and Batalon, he asked the others what they’d do with their superpowers. Everyone already knew what his cheeky response – presumably an ongoing joke – would be: “rob a bank.” And so, he did, in his subsequent movie project Cherry.
At one point, Holland even spilled that the very first audition in his life was for a Romeo and Juliet school play. He failed to land any role back then. However, two decades later, he went on to star in Shakespeare’s doomed romance in London’s West End production (2024).
The much-loved English star’s next prediction was credited to his love for video games. During a 2017 Q&A, he disclosed that his favourite video game was Uncharted. Three years later, he was cast as the young Nathan Drake in the film adaptation of the very popular game.
In yet another bonkers development, he was given the opportunity to reveal his three actor picks (alive or dead) for a project. In a SiriusXM interaction, he quickly gave away Jake Gyllenhaal’s name, and we all know the Donnie Darko actor was the one to bear Mysterio’s despicable mantle in the second Holland-led Spider-Man standalone movie.
Among some other Spidey predictions, even his love story with Zendaya was longtime coming. When asked during a Spider-Man: Homecoming interview who his childhood celebrity crush was, Holland didn’t hold back and confessed right away it was Zendaya. While their romantic fates weren’t aligned at the time, jumping few years ahead, we all know what happened next. Not only are they together now, TomDaya are also very much engaged to be married.
