Oyo founder and Shark Tank India judge Ritesh Agarwal turned the tables on himself, choosing to take a test and allowing the show’s team to evaluate him in a behind-the-scenes (BTS) moment. In a candid Instagram reel, a longer version of which was shared on YouTube, Agarwal shared his ‘report card’ and reflected on the responses.
“On Shark Tank India, we tell entrepreneurs what’s working and what’s not. But today, I decided to put myself in the hot seat and ask the crew and my fellow Sharks what THEY think of me,” Agarwal said. While he initially wondered if the exercise was a “big mistake,” he admitted that some responses made him feel like a “straight-A student.”
The Shark Tank India crew had glowing feedback for Agarwal, highlighting his humility, listening skills, and encouragement toward pitchers.
Nitya, a crew member, appreciated his reassuring smile during pitches, saying it helps entrepreneurs feel more comfortable presenting their ideas. “That makes it very engaging for the pitcher,” she said.
Ridhi, another team member, praised Agarwal for being an “encouraging Shark” who supports contestants even if he chooses not to invest. “He is very interested in knowing the personal story of the businesses,” she added.
Vishesh Garg, a coordinator for the Sharks, called him “very punctual” and appreciated how he treats his colleagues. “Even though I work for him, he makes it feel like I’m working with him,” he noted.
Jalpa, another crew member, deemed him one of her “favourites at Shark Tank India,” while Princy lauded his humility and advisory skills. “He very humbly tells pitchers if there are any mistakes in their pitch. I really like him as an investor,” she said.
