OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently reacted to a post shared by MyGov India which featured the now-viral Ghibli- style images of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The caption along with the original post read, “Main character? No. He’s the whole storyline Experience through New India in Studio Ghibli strokes.” Altman reshared the post with an emoji of the Indian flag.
The post on X showed various Ghibli images of PM Modi, where one of them showed him shaking hands with US President Donald Trump and meeting French President Emmanuel Macron. Other images of him wearing an army uniform and posing with the Indian flag were also shared by MyGov India.

It had initially also recreated PM Modi’s pictures that were previously captured next to a Vande Bharat train, and in a Tejas fighter aircraft, and also his visit to the Maldives.
Some social media users even pointed out that Altman was highlighting India’s growing powers in the AI landscape due to Modi’s emphasis on digital innovation.
Ghibli art form has been created by the Japanese studio which uses soft pastel colors and detailed designs. Its AI generation has led to a lot of debate and criticism online. These images are now all over the internet, with social media filled with beautiful, dreamlike Ghibli-style pictures. These images, from fantasy scenes to characters with big, expressive eyes, remind people of the famous films by Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki.
The latest update to OpenAI’s ChatGPT now lets users create images in the Ghibli style, and these artworks are quickly becoming popular online.
ChatGPT has a built-in image generator that lets users create AI images just by typing simple text descriptions. By uploading a photo and adding a description, users can create their own artwork in seconds. This feature was, till now, only available to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Team, and some other subscription users. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman announced on Tuesday that the feature is now open for free users as well.
