The 14-year old star debuting in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 scored an impressive century for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) taking the team to victory. A viral post on social media made by a meme page @satirelogy claimed that the Rs 1.1 crore RR asset had failed his CBSE Class 10 board exam 2025. With the text written boldly across Suryavanshi’s photograph, it said “Vaibhav Suryavanshi fails 10th boards, BCCI request DRS review of his answer sheet”. In an attempt to make a humourous remark, the post was shared widely across the platform and led to the creation of massive commentary.

While some users on Instagram lauded his momentous achievement in cricket at a young age, others even compared him to cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. While the post clearly stated “this is not real news”, netizens still made the post viral.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi career graph

Suryavanshi remains in the spotlight for his impressive cricket achievements, including hitting a six off his first IPL ball and scoring a century in just 35 balls, the second-fastest in IPL history. Vaibhav Suryavanshi, born on March 27, 2011, in Tajpur village, Bihar, began his cricket journey at the age of four under his father’s guidance. By nine, he joined a cricket academy in Samastipur, and his talent quickly became evident. At 12, he scored 400 runs in five matches during the Vinoo Mankad Trophy, leading to his first-class debut for Bihar in January 2024, making him the second-youngest player in Ranji Trophy history.

IPL 2025 Returns

Following the rising geopolitical tensions after Operation Sindoor, BCCI has suspended the IPL 2025 for a week. After a sudden blackout during an ongoing match in Dharamshala, the decision was taken to prevent any unfortunate scenarios. IPL 2025 will now resume tomorrow on May 17. Kicking off the remaining thirteen league matches will be between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). While Suryavanshi’s cohort has been eliminated for the playoffs, they will play against the Punjab Kings on Sunday, May 18 in Jaipur. While the venue for the playoffs has not been revealed yet, the IPL 2025 final is set to be played on June 3.
