A video shared on X shows a group of people, allegedly Punjabi Jatts, setting off fireworks from moving cars on London streets. The video clearly shows the car numbers and the faces of the people involved.
Many people online are asking the London police to take action and hold them responsible.
Setting off fireworks from moving cars is against the law and can cause accidents or injuries. India celebrated Diwali on October 20, and fireworks are a common part of the celebration.
While it is not clear if the fireworks from the cars were for Diwali, there have been several reports about some Indians not following good civic behaviour.
This behavior by Punjabi Jatts on London streets is unacceptable. They should be held liable for ASB, endangering lives by displaying fireworks from moving cars. Their car registration and faces are fully visible. Let @metpoliceuk take action after reading this post. pic.twitter.com/POyWDs5bDT

‘Identify and deport them’
Netizens reacted to the video on X. A user noted, “Identify and deport them.” Another claimed, “Welcome to London where it’s a criminal offence to wave a flag but these people can shoot fireworks out of cars lmao.” “They will arrest you for posting this because it made someone feel uncomfortable. That’s what the London police do these days. They certainly won’t stop this,” criticised a netizen.
“Shooting fireworks from moving cars sounds less like celebration and more like an audition for chaos. London’s traffic is dramatic enough without turning it into a live-action movie set. Maybe next time they can light up the sky without risking their driver’s license,” stated another. “More chance they will take action against you for “raising awareness,” claimed a netizen.
