An MBBS student took to social media to share what she called a “peak Bengaluru moment” with her friends and followers. Sudeshna shared a screengrab of the WhatsApp conversation on X (formerly known as Twitter), and it has left people both amused and curious.
“Funny thing happened, you know,” the WhatsApp message, as shared by Sudeshna on X, read.
It added, “I booked Uber and the guy who picked me up was a team lead at my office.”
The sender also shared the reason as to why the team lead decided to moonlight as an Uber driver – simply to “cut off some boredom”. “He said he does this for fun and to cut off some boredom,” he further said.

Social media can’t digest it
“Being stuck in traffic for hours – to pass the time? Sounds fishy!” said one social media user.
Another asked, “How did he have a car with a passenger vehicle number plate?” To this, one social media user replied, “Bengaluru has Uber bike too, where the 2-wheeler can be registered to Uber or Rapido even if it is a white board.”
“Extra money always helps, I guess,” expressed a third.
A fourth said that he is “not sure” about the WhatsApp screenshot.
“How can a team lead have so much free time?” asked yet another social media user.
