In a first since 2016, Sunday will bring on the NBA Finals Game 7 as the Indiana Pacers stole the show with a 108-91 Game 6 victory against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday. Now that the underdogs have forced an undisputed win despite Tyrese Haliburton’s injury looming large over the basketball clash, fans seem to have all kinds of predictions ready for the upcoming weekend showdown.
The Thursday game was a must-win situation for the Pacers if they wanted the odds to be in their favour, and they pulled it off like champs. With the cumulative score of the six games all tied up, fans cannot wait for “the first winner-take-all Game 7 in the NBA Finals since 2016,” and the 20th overall.
The last time basketball superstars dunked their way to a Game 7 in which LeBron James‘ Cleveland Cavaliers bested Stephen Curry’s Golden State Warriors. That’s not alone. In addition to the Sunday match being the first NBA Finals Game 7 in nearly a decade, it will also be the first to be played without LeBron on the court in 15 years.
A high-stakes chase is guaranteed on Sunday as this Game 7 win could bring home the first NBA title for either lineup. Now, it remains to be seen if the Oklahoma City Thunder will make the most of the home-court advantage or if the Indiana Pacers’ so-called “Devil Magic” works overtime.

Fans cheer on upcoming historic NBA Finals Game 7
As the NBA Finals Game 7 fever reaches its peak, fans have already stormed social media, sharing their anticipatory excitement with fellow B-Ball enthusiasts. As many are in their feels about the finals heading to Game 7 after such a long passage of time, nostalgia is running high on X. Even the official NBA account couldn’t help but look back at the fond memories of LeBron James’ Cavaliers dunking a massive win in 2016.
Many others also snapped back at those who initially claimed that the 2025 series would churn out a dull streak of matchups. “NBA twitter tried to tell us that this was going to be a boring finals & now we got a game 7,” someone cheered on the platform. With what is now an epic-in-the-making, fans are hoping for the Pacers vs Thunder clash to be as “dramatic” as the LeBron James vs Stephen Curry battle royale in 2016.

And yet, some are also already anticipating something unexpected to leave them stunned on Sunday. “The thing about a Game 7 is that you gotta throw everything you think you know about both teams out the window, because some weird sh*t is about to happen,” said an NBA fan.
Indiana Pacers vs Oklahoma City Thunder NBA Finals: Who will win Game 7? Fans say…
Amid the raging trend for the NBA Finals game, a group of fans also began betting on who’d win the upcoming basketball action. “Just realised game 7 is on Sunday and pacers devil magic won’t work,” wrote an X user.
According to a widely-discussed superstitious belief, Indiana Pacers seem to have the “Devil Magic” working on their side in times of hardships. Certain fans have long believed that the team is often able to pull off a reversal of fate in their favour even though many may have bet against them in a match.

Many have already attributed the Pacers’ Thursday win to the so-called “voodoo magic” being in full force. Basketball fans have often also backed the team, acknowledging that such claims merely invalidate the team’s excellence and strength to deliver when it’s most unexpected.
“They have “devil magic” if devil magic is absolutely great ball movement that leads to open shots on offense and great defense that leads to easy transition buckets,” a fan said on Reddit at one point. “Hate on the Pacers, but they play the most unselfish ball you’re going to see in the NBA and they do it at an extremely high level.”
Thunder vs Pacers: What lies ahead?
“Devil Magic” or not, all such miraculous plays by the Pacers may just come handy on Sunday. However, the post in focus, among several others spotted on TikTok, insist that “Devil’s Magic” can’t work on a “Holy Sunday.”
While it’s all fun and games, CBS Sports’ NBA reporter Sam Quinn also suggested that no matter how the game pans out on Sunday, it’s going to leave behind at least one of the teams regretting a previous clash. “If the Pacers win 7, Game 1 haunts the Thunder forever. If the Thunder win 7, Game 4 haunts the Pacers forever,” he wrote on X.

Once again, with Game 5, Thunder cracked a 120 score against Pacers’ losing 109 bet. And finally, with Game 6, the Pacers earned redemption with a 108 win against Thunder’s 91.
