US President Donald Trump, in his latest efforts to crack down on immigration, signed a proclamation imposing a $100,000 (over Rs 88 lakh) fee on H-1B visa applicants – a move that could potentially deal a significant blow to the technology sector, which relies heavily on skilled workers from India and China.

According to Trump, the move is aimed at ensuring that the people being brought into the country are “actually very highly skilled” and do not replace American workers. “We need workers. We need great workers, and this pretty much ensures that that’s what’s going to happen,” he said.

India vs Oman has gained five million searches in 24 hours 

India edged out a rather too close game for comfort against Oman. However, Men in Blue survived the scare and managed to win the match by 21 runs. They move into the Super Four of the tournament unbeaten and will be looking to elevate their game and continue their winning momentum to ultimately lift the trophy.

Zubeen garg is trending with over one million searches

Singer Zubeen Garg, best known for his song Ya Ali with Pritam, has died after a freak scuba diving accident in Singapore on Friday. He was 52. The singer, who rose to fame in Assam in the 90s, became a household name nationally with the success of his song, Ya Ali, in 2006.

Assam Cabinet Minister Ashok Singhal confirmed the singer’s death on social media on Friday afternoon. Later on he also confirmed that Garg was not wearing a life jacket and was warned by the lifeguards before he took the plunge, according to a PTI report.

Arshdeep singh trending with one lakh searches 

Arshdeep Singh became the first India men’s bowler to reach 100 T20I wickets when he dismissed Oman’s Vinayak Shukla in India’s final group game of the 2025 Asia Cup. 

He reached there in his 64th T20I and is the 25th bowler in the 100-plus wicket club, which includes 12 other fast bowlers. 

Having made his T20I debut in July 2022 against England, Arshdeep has completed 100 wickets in only three years and 74 days. It is the second-quickest for a fast bowler after Bahrain’s Rizwan Butt, who reached the milestone in two years and 240 days. No other bowler has completed 100 T20I wickets in under four years.

South Africa women vs Pakistan women with one lakh searches 

With 11 days to go for the World Cup, Pakistan and South Africa played out a high-scoring thriller in Lahore. There were three centuries: Tazmin Brits posted her career-best 171 not out, Laura Wolvaardt brought up her ninth ODI hundred, and Sidra Amin hit 122. Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi are back in the courtroom; this time as rival lawyers in the highly anticipated sequel, Jolly LLB 3.
