Travel vlogger, Shafeek Hashim (70MM Vlogs) with over 28,000 subscribers found an  alternative to billboard marketing. He decided to convert his head, using baldness to his advantage to secure a brand deal with La Densitae. While considering his options for a hair-transplant, he offered to turn his head into a space for advertisement.

Catching eyeballs and turning heads, this YouTuber temporarily tattooed his head with La Densitae’s logo. Shafeek posted an open invitation inviting companies to advertise on his ‘bald head’ via a video on social media. This unique attempt at marketing caught the attention of a Kochi-based company, La Densitae.

“At least three videos will be released on my YouTube channel in three months. When I record videos, my head will be given prominence to attract the viewers’ attention,” he said.

Humoursly he claimed, “I expect better offers in the future. This is the first time in the world a person is offering his head as a billboard.”

In an attempt to go viral, this also puts a positive spin on baldness and normalising it. Moreover, in this unconventional advertisement opportunity, the brand caught the trend and identified a way to make headlines. Hashish also mentioned in a report by TNIE “After some deep thought, I have realised that baldness is natural, and there is no shame in embracing it” elaborating that “bald is beautiful” and that people should be able to feel comfortable in their own skin.

A message towards body positivity and unconventional marketing, this “baldboard” certainly caught eyeballs on the 70MM Vlogs by Shafeek.
